VIECON
3D map | Virtual tour
We developed an interactive 3D map and an immersive 360° tour for the Vienna Congress & Convention Center, allowing visitors to explore the event spaces digitally.
Digital orientation for complex event spaces
VIECON combines several halls, rooms, and usage scenarios at a central location in Vienna. The goal was to make this diversity accessible in a structured, intuitive, and visual way—even before the first on-site appointment.
The interactive 3D map serves as a central navigation system and allows event organizers to select specific areas and dive directly into the corresponding rooms.
Interactive 3D map as an entry-level system
The 3D map clearly displays the entire area and links buildings, levels, and event spaces with the respective panoramic viewpoints.
This creates clear orientation within a complex spatial structure.
Services:
Design of navigation logic
3D-based surface structure
Integration with Craft CMS
Direct link to 360° panoramas
360° panoramas & variable room configurations
We produced a total of over 100 high-resolution 360° panoramas for the project.
Some rooms were additionally equipped with 3D compositing to realistically display different seating arrangements.
An integrated switch function allows event organizers to switch between empty space and seating arrangements and directly compare usage scenarios.
Implementation:
100th 360° panoramas produced
Panoramas with 3D compositing
Switch function (empty / seated)
Several on-site production appointments
Technical implementation
The solution was seamlessly integrated into the existing website and designed as a functional viewer.
The focus was on clarity, performance, and a minimalist user interface that puts the rooms at the center of attention.
Added value for event organizers and operators
The interactive solution enables event organizers to digitally analyze rooms, compare setups, and efficiently prepare decisions—regardless of time and place.
For VIECON, this creates a powerful digital sales tool that provides transparency, reduces coordination processes, and structures complex event spaces in a comprehensible way.
